SAN JOSE--GCT Semiconductor Inc., a provider of radio frequency (RF) integrated circuits for wireless devices, announced today that it has received $38 million in Series C funding. This brings the total amount of equity financing raised to more than $54 million.
The Series C round was led by Pequot Ventures. Other participants included National Semiconductor, Pericom, UOB Venture Management, 3V SourceOne Ventures, Mizuho Capital and ITX International Equity.
The company will utilize the new capital to transition its products from sampling into mass production and expand its geographical marketing presence.
GCT develops chips based on a direct conversion architecture. The San Jose-based company develops RF, Bluetooth, and other chip products, based on the technology.
